Extra info : ABOUT ME: I'm 32 from Yorkshire in England. I'm married and working as a Mechancial Engineer. I was diagnosed with dyslexia and scotopic sensitivity syndrome in about 2003 I think. I had signs all the way through school and they were picked up on but not acted on. It wasn't until I got to uni many years later that a tutor spotted it right away. We have a big history of dyslexia in our family so it came as no surprise. I can manage the literacy problems very well with IT and spell checkers etc. But its the impact of the automaticity, memory and coordination issues on my every day life that I find difficult to deal with. On saying that I have learned alot about myself since I was diagnosed and have a good idea what works for me now. I have also had problems with maths but I ended up teaching myself it in a way that works for me and now its one of my strong points. Which is just as well being an engineer.
