My son has had the WISC III for ability, and the Woodcock-Johnson and WRAT for achievement, which all have Standard Scores that can be compared to each other. I want end of year achievement testing conducted that will be able to measure if there is progress being made. The school will not repeat the same testing even though it will be more than a year later. I need to know which achievement tests can be compared with the ones above. (For instance I am aware that the PIAT cannot be compared to the ones above). Any answers out there? Thanks, Cyndi
Despite what you may have read in other places, norm referenced testing is not the most informative way to measure progress from year to year. For reading, a solid reading inventory which measures accuracy, fluency and comprehension is much more effective for instructional planning. The good ones are standardized.
However, if you are going to insist that norm referenced testing be used, and I know that lots of folks do, then I would suggest the Woodcock Reading Mastery Test for Reading and Keymath for math.
