Dyscalculia

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I came across your very informative message board, while doing research for a presentation assignment on Dyscalculia. I am no “spring-chicken” student, looking for an easy out with my homework, but in all honesty, whereas I can find plenty of “formal” information on my choosen subject, I was wondering if anyone might know of sites that perhaps offer a test, or online activities to help determine dyscalculia?
My presentation is due July 30th, must span 40 minutes…….it’s an online course…..Adults With Learning Disabilities, and I have most of the ‘basic’ information already. I chose dyscalculia as by it’s characteristics, I believe my 15 year old daughter may have this L.D. Not to mention me, her Mother!
Any an all help would be most appreciated, and thank you all!

Sincerely
Jennifer

http://www.dyscalculia.org has quite a bit of information, including an online test. However, the test costs $550!

Try a search using http://www.metacrawler.com. You might turn up something that way.

I did investigate www.dyscalculia.org quite extensively, and it did have some very good information. A great site! I also tried metracrawler, with some luck, as well as some other search engines. I’m still searching for perhaps something that doesn’t exist, but ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’.
Thank you Mary for your suggestion!

Lasse,
My homework doesn’t deal with the actual Math itself, but it’s learning disability……dyscalculia.
Irregardless, thank you for your message.
