Has anyone used any of the following products: Kurzweil 3000, The Reading Pen, Cast eReader, Write:Outloud, Co:writer, and Writing with symbols? Any opinions about any of these products would be greatly appreciated. They sound like great products, but everything sounds good.
Re: Reading Systems and Software
We have used them and they are all excellent products for their specified purpose. Are you asking because you were just granted a wish to buy to your heart’s content or do you have a specific person in mind?

One of the least expensive Write:OutLoud is very good and easy to use. For word prediction you have to add CO:Writer. I would prefer this was one program. An expensive program I liked was Kurzweil 3000. It was not as easy to use and the word prediction was not as good. It did seem to have more scanning and internet capabilities.
Re: Reading Systems and Software
Has anyone used any of the following products: Kurzweil 3000, I like it as a reading program, great OCR scanning capabilities. The Reading Pen, Possibly good for student who only periodically needs to have a word read outloud, need good fine motor skills Cast eReader, wonderful for reading information from the internent or work that was done by the teacher on the computer. Write:Outloud, wonderful spelling dicitonary Co:writer 4000, recommend it with flying colors, love flexible spelling and Writing with symbols? Wonderful teacher tool. allows teacher to write stories using pictures, not as easy to use by student, prefer Clicker 4 for students. Another good prgram is Read and Write, fair word prediction, great spelling and thesaurus. please feel free to email me if you want anymore of my 1 cents of these products. Any opinions about any of these products would be

Re: Reading Systems and Software
The Read and Write program by Texthelp does word prediction and will talk as you type and help with spelling in any application. The cost for an individual user is $249.00 and for a school multi user the cost is $349.00 — so it does in one program what co-writer and write outload do in two and is less expensive!!! … plus you can use it on the internet. My company is Envision Technology and we are located in Bethesda, MD. We sell the Kurzweil 3000, Read and Write, Inspiration and the AlphaSmart. If people are in the local Washington Metropolitan area, we encourage them to come in and preview the products. Please call Moira Williams at (301) 654-3568 for more info.
