Hi! I have a student with Asberger’s in my classroom and I am going to introduce the program “Inspiration” to my students for a project we are working on. I was wondering if anyone had used this program with diverse learners and how it went. Any ideas regarding experience with students with Asberger’s is welcomed as well. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you all!
Where to purchase Inspiration
Go to inspiration.com, and you can download a free sample of inspiration or kidspiration. They will tell you where to purchase.
Hi. I’ve used Inspiration with many of my students - mostly students with learning disabilities/reading problems. Some of our regular ed. teachers use the program to help students organize information, compare data, etc for content classes. One example was comparing slavery with indentured servents.
I have found students really enjoy the graphical representation and it helps them “picture” what they are saying or reading. We also have just purchased “Kidspiration” for our younger students. It speaks the words, and has a more intutive interface for younger students. Depending on your student’s skills and abilities, the Kidspiration may be better for him/her.
I think both programs are great! I was involved with a training through Univ. of Oregon: ComputerBased Study Strategies (CBSS) that uses Inspiration to help students develop better study/writing skills.
