I just read a new non-technical review of the new Microsoft Office with Word for Windows word processsing program. In the review, it said that it had a very decent dictation element.
I’m thinking that an upgrade to Word I already use an earlier version) might be productive if my son can dictate his writing assignments into the Word program.
Anyone have any info on this program? THanks Kathleen
Re: Dictation in new Microsoft Word for Windows?
Minimal is a good way to descibe the funtionality of the dictation element in the new release of Office XP. While it is nice to have the ability of some basic dictation capabilities in an office suite, for serious dictation needs one needs to look at other products such as NaturallySpeaking by L&H. The new release of NaturallySpeaking (V 5.0) is both powerful and affordable and is certainly worth looking at.
Where did you read this? I just read a short review of the new program myself, but it didn’t say anything about dictation. It did say there was some *minimal* voice recognition, but as I understood it they were talking about the ability to perform certain tasks using voice instead of a mouse.
