List of questions

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Now that the year is coming to an end, I wanted to have a conference with my son’s teachers. My intentions were to gather information that they have gained which would be helpful for his pediatrician, audiologist, and advocate that we intend on speaking to over the summer.
He has been diagnosed ADD, LD, and has an IEP in place. Problem is, it isn’t working. He continues to struggle every evening and his grades are slowly declining.I know that the teachers have valuable information, but never offer any.The only way I get any information at all, is if I specifically ask all of the questions.
I feel that his teachers don’t want to put in the extra effort to help him in the mainstream.
Any ideas for what would be helpful for me to ask his teachers to reflect back on the year in review and help the teachers to come.
Thanks so much,
Sue

I have found with my son’s teachers they just want to slide him through
school. I am fighting this strongly. Learn your State and Federal laws your
advocate can tell you how to get these. And stay strong, don’t back down.
Our children have the right to learn and be successful. If you feel his IEP
isn’t working call and schedule to change it you have that right. The sooner
the better. When you go to the meeting know what you want in his IEP
and put it in place. Good Luck. Sue wrote:
