Folks:
Alot of you complain about being screwed by the DVR’s; the SSI; the Work adjustment programs which seem sometimes to serve their own greedy blood leaching $$$ hands instead of being intrested to help the disabled (LD) etc. You know who are the directors don’t you ?? I give you a hint: a bunch of romantic left wing breast’s and social scientist’s who bark more than bite. They get those politicians agreeing with them to fund disabled programs where they get a bunch of chances to get the tax free bonds which are needed to finance the services. Then the directors get alot of nice photo ops with the big shots about caring for the disabled feeding the people drugs to keep them complacent on inspection tours. I had a situation where a work adjustment program claimed they placed 99% of the clientele in jobs… Well they never provided statistics nor any satisfied employers to contact. The equipment was broken and nonworking. The water fountin was flooded to the point it would not drain properly; the clients were not allowed to use the refrigirator to keep food fresh they got food sick twice. Anyway, they said they encoraged free opinion and thought: HA HA ! They only entertained thoughts that were pro shrink and pills; pro communist anti-U.S…. Anything against liberal thinking; gays or shrinks was strongly discouraged…. Where was the human rights ?? Where was the free thinking ?? Please be honest ! I mean if they stiffle free thought or they can’t place people in jobs admit it ! Geez….

In sticking to the issues, I live in a state where there has been a Republican Governor and now a Democrat. I see no differences in DRS services either way. I think at least in my state, it is a situation where the counselors have a million cases and while they are well meaning, they really don’t have a clue as to how to help people with LD. Even if they want to have a clue, their situation dictates that they have to close cases as soon as possible so obviously, they are going to deal with various issues of conflict.
In my opinion, politicians on both sides of the aisle are all talk and no action. Having your picture taken so you can get on the news without doing a darned thing is not limited to one party. Ironically, the only politician who had any guts and who had LD, Paul Wellstone, unfortunately was killed in a plane crash.
Until these professionals have a true understanding of LD and realize that dealing with us is a different ballgame than their typical client with a disability, we are going to be talking about theses issues a year from now and five years from now.

The drug companies are big bussiness and big business and the right wing go hand in hand.
Oneida county is controlled by conservative Republicans and Onieda county has more programs for the disabled than there are disabled. These guys are lining their pockets.
It is not homophobic to say that these agencies lack testosterone. In fact Mike, I wonder if you live in Utica NY and work for RCIL or VESID. If so I will send you some Vaseline for you and your clients.

The tragedy of the situation is that in this country, they say the disabled will be treated with compassion: that being said, we have a totally diffrent situation. The people in the trnches sometimes do not care about LD people. Totally sucks…

Man…. We LDer’s do not need these DVR agencies. A bunch of misguided cocks and fritters. I could get a janitor job anywhere. Get our own agencies run by LDers for LDers… Some of the DVR folks act like Facists or Commies with their Fifth Columm backer’s from the Horn. The LD folks can do the job better.

Amen Turk! I really think people should show up at their DVR offices in force and be loud and angry and vey disruptive and scary.
Make the head honcho crap his pants. Word will get back to the commisioner of ed or the governor. If it keeps happening somebody will sit up and take notice.
We can rag about it until we are blue in the face and we can rag to the potiticians who will do nothing but is a number of angry fed up former clients show up and practice a little civil disobedience and bring in some reporters somebody may do something.
I’ve been sprayed with pepper spray. It ain’t all that bad.
Put up signs at laundry mats and super markets that say
VICTIMS OF DVR? call this number after you get 10 or so calls organize a protest. Make it loud and angry!

Gee thats funny. In NYS our Republican governor George Pataki appointed a guy named Stephen P Mills a Republican to head the NYS Dept of Ed. Mills is the commissioner of education. The deputy Commissioner is Lawrence Gloeckler. He heads VESID NYS’s VR agency also a Republican.
It is completely assinine to believe that political philosophies have anything to do with the reasons these agencies suck. The entire situation is actully apolitical.Helping the disabled and allocating resources is endorsed by Dems and Republicans alike. The pimps that run these agencies are both Democrat and Republican.
As far as Republicans are concerned most of them should be shot for treason. That coup de tage that happened in Florida where the Nazi GOP stole the election and put George senior’s retatrded puppet son drunkard coke sniffing can’t raise his druggie daughter brother of Crooked Neil and whoremaster election rigging Jeb son in office.
