I am new, and in my 40's with grown kids

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi Everyone:

Thanks for reading my email.
I find that I I did ten things at once never finishing one. That was where my husband helped. He was just the opisite. He never started anything.

I had a 25 year job with the government. They knew I was Dumb….or slow…or come up with great ideas that no one else thought of that helped the department alot.

I raised two great kids.

Then a hysterectomy, instant menopause, and all full symptoms at age 29. I built three homes.

I did this and that and I respect myselt and others.

MY QUESTION TO EVERY PERSON WITH THIS ADHD, OR ADA..

ARE YOU TIRED ALL THE TIME: i MEAN, ARE YOU FATIGUED?

WHY DOES THIS RITALIN MAKE ME ABLE TO THINK AGAIN????

hOW COULD rITALIN MAKE ME FEEL BETTER BUT FEEL NORMAL?

wAS ANY OTHER ADULT FATIGUED TO THE MAX STARTING IN THEIR TEENS?

WHY DID I THINK OF TEN THINGS AT ONCE NEVER COPLETEING THEM LIKE OTHER PEOPLE.
eVERYONE AT WORK SAID, WELL SHE ISN’T REALLY ORGANIZED THAT WELL, OR THINK GREAT, OR CAN’T FIGURE MATH WELL, BUT SHE IS SO SO SWEET.. THE NICE PERSON EVERYONE WANTS TO WORK WITH.

i JUST AM WONDERING AND WANT TO MAKE SOME ADULT FRIENDS…EMAIL FRIENDS THAT HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS ME AND WE CAN SHARE INFORMATION.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY LETTER.
SINCERELY,
eLIZABETH
ps:
LOOKING FORWARD IN MEETING NEW PEOPLE LIKE ME SO I CAN LEARN TO IMPROVE MY UNORGANIZED LIFE. MY HUBBY GONE NOW AND MY KIDS GROWN AND GONE, AND MY LIFE IS ALL MIXED UP, UN ORGANIZED, AND I NEED PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND.

Oh my gosh! You just described me! I was always tired! To the point of not having any energy at all ever! I thought I had Epstein Barr Syndrome or something. I finally started taking Ritalin and was able to sleep better and stay awake, focused and energized during the day. I ran out of my perscription 2 days ago and the exhaustion is back. I am on the way to my Dr. for a refill.

I also am in my 40s and recently self diagnosed as having ADD and Dyslexia.

Good luck to you !!!

hi i am also in my 40’s and feel that my friends and husband don’t understand what we go through. My kids are getting older and need me less. I just found this site today and looking foward to hearing about our daily mishaps. If you have ADD/ADHD you have to have a sense of humor……
