You know what—the herbal bandwagon is just that—a bandwagon to fall off of—go to a professional—speak to them about it, and don’t be a putz about haveing to take your meds—the media is full of BS and does not deliver accurqate information—a qualified professional can—there may be some herbs that might work on a certain number of us, but if that is noit you, then don’t sweat it—I hope you are not reading stuff from charlatans like Gary Null—that egotistcal B..s..rd should be locked up for the bogus info he oputs out there—to his rarget market—while he laughs all the way to the bank!!!—Go See Your Doctor—MD—not a witch doctor!!

I agree with Jon. Proceed very carefully with herbal treatments (or any kind of treatments) that are hyped for ADD. Some herbs can be harmful. Your doctor is the best source of reliable information, and he isn’t trying to sell you something. If you’re concerned about taking stimulants, ask your doctor if Straterra would appropriate for you. It’s new on the market and is popular because it isn’t a stimulant. If you end up with stimulants, stimulants will not affect you the way they would someone who is not ADD. I can take a nap on Adderall and it’s never made me hyper.

Good luck to you!

Both of my children are ADD. As hard as the decision is to medicate, try to keep in mind you are helping, not harming them. It makes it easer for you. Remember, it is only fair to provide a proven treatment. I know several children who are using herbal treatments. One child I have watched over the years, and have a great fondness for. Without proper treatment he has failed at nearly all academic levels, or has become so distracted his work is left undone. It’s the usual story, yet the parents refuse to seek another treatment that is not herbal. My advice is to look at medical treatment.

Try lipoic acid and Omega 3s for about six months and if you get results keep using it.

Nutrition is key. Most food available in the supermarket are not fit for human consumption.

Eat as healthy as you can.
