NILD?

I have found NILD to be an extremely effective programme for my son. Teachers at our school (South Africa) are very in favour of the programme as they find that children with LD become independent learners from a young age. My husbands commented that it was effective because it teaches the children to think for themselves. The development of the child’s reasoning ability through mediated learning is most effective.

I just looked into the NILD website. Wish I had the money to go through their certification. They look responsible and competent and I would recommend a tutor who follows their approaches.

I am an Educational Therapist certified through NILD. The program is indeed comprehensive and has a solid foundation. Unfortunately, we still have not been accepted into many of the special education circles due to our lack of empirical research. There are several studies currently being conducted which will increase the validity of our program.
