testing

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

i’m looking for what tests i should have done on my daughter for myself mainly.
i’m concerned that she has other learning disabilities. she did o.k. last year. but towards the end when the work load got heavy and harder she started to go downhill. her teacher was concerned that this year is going to be make or break. she carried her own but i’m not so sure she says when the work got harder it was reaaly hard for her bto figure out, luckily we had a teacher who took the extra time after school to work with her. this year i’m not so sure the third grade teachers some are fair the others i don’t want. our district won’t test unless their failing. their idea is as long as they pass why test their doing alright and i don’t want to wait for her to fail before i know i want to know now. i have ins. it’s not the best but some better than none. how do you approach the school to have them test her and what tests should i have done on her. i see all the tests listed on this b.b. but don’t know which to choose? any advice would be appreciated thanx alicef

Some states, such as Ohio, require that a school complete a multifactored evaluation upon parent request. Don’t know if your state has this requirement, but it would be worth checking out.
