Goal : increase phonemic awareness through direct instruction in phoneme representation, deletion and reversal.
objective: Given spoken words will indicate the number and order of sounds in the word using token representation.Then delete sounds within the words and then reverse phonemes in words.
Goal: increase word level decoding and spelling through direct instruction in alphabetical principal with particular attention to less predictable sound/symble correspondences(vowel teams, dge, r-controlled vowels,prefixes and suffixes).
objective: given word and /or picture cards will identify the words/pictures and sort them into the correct sound/spellin unit category. Then given a list of words containing common prefixes and suffixes will read/spell each word.
Goal: increase fluency by reading text up to a 3.0 level utilizing techniques of whiper/silent reading to read along with text, engage in repeated reading of text and answer comprehendion questions with 80% accuracy.
objective; given a text at 2.5 level will accurately read the text and answer comprehension questions associated with passage. target goal rate 90-100 cwpm. Then do the same with 3.0 level at a target goal of 110-120 cwpm
Annual goal: utilizing visualizing and verbalizing techniques will increase reading comprehension through development by describing pictures, sentences, and paragraphs using structure words.
objective: utilize visualizing and verbalizing techniques to describe a picture provided while incorporating structure words (what, size,color,number,shape,where, movement,mood,background,prespective, when,sound) picture to picture then sentence to sentence and then to paragraph.- Now this all sounds great, and I asked if the reading specialist thought the Barton program would mesh well, but she wanted me to try some things with her so I wouldn’t have to spend money. At this point with the stall in reading progress I am thinking I dont want to see how things will go as I don’t particularly trust the para educators to be able to handle these objectives.)

Wow, just a comment that the LD Online clock must be on some other continent. It says I posted at 2:45am on Saturday, but it was only 5:45pm on Friday!!!

The reading specialist who used to be a speech pathologist helped the learning support to write them. The reading specialist works in a different school in the same district. I am hoping the learning support will be able to follow thru, we’ll see. Yeah, Ive noticed the time has been wrong for a while, it is confusing.-
Who wrote those goals, you or the school? Just curious.
