Does anyone know the max number of IEP’s that can be in an inclusive classroom with an aide. Seems like every month I am getting a new one. I teach second grade in New Jersey. Thanks

Look in your teacher’s contract. I think the cap in CA for RSP teachers in some districts is 28. The SDC’s I work with have a maximum of 12 kids in them, depending on the severity.

STate regulations — or perhaps county — are where I fouind these in Virginia. Back then and there, if there was a single kiddo in there without a label, they could legally call it a “regular” class.
[The rather nice thing I know this ‘cause there was a regular teacher who was willing and able to work with a class full of kids with labels — and the admins considered “full” to be 15 or 16, in middle school Science, for this level! — and they just had to make sure they had a couple or three students in there (who also would be served by being taught differently). YES, it was ability grouping… and it worked because it was done well. ]
