Parental input needed.

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Often we here from teachers all the short comings of our kids. We hear term like lazy, unmotivated ect.. Teachers seem to feel that they hold no responsibility for their strugling students.

Here is what I am talking about.

I think a parental point of view would be helpful here.

Hmmm….I’ve been posting in that thread and I’m a parent. So is Beth. And Victotia.

Your problem seems to be that your inframatory posts keep getting deleted. Are you trying to rile up the folks here and have them post for you?

Dad-you must have more faith than I do in this BB’s ability to keep their registration system from getting hacked again…

Hacking is an unpleasant reality of the digital age to be certain, however hacking leaves “fingerprints” and is also more trouble than it is worth for most people to fuss with. I think the hastle of having to register and reregister will thin the number of trolls who feed on this site. It won’t end it completely oif course, but I do think it will make it far less common.

I havent hopped over to the other board to check the conversation but, in the past, we have had ‘trolls’ who would intrude on threads from people coming and asking for help. Their position would be that all learning and behavior problems were due to laziness, poor parenting, and even overweight mothers(!!!)

They were especially hard on anyone looking to utilize medication.

It was pretty touchy for awhile and many regulars went elsewhere, at least for awhile

A troll is like a liberal. Their really aren’t any liberals but it is always convienient to lable someone one who consistently proves you wrong.

The thing to do about a real troll is not respond but that requires the maturity of an adult and if you check out the thread to which I am referring you will see quite a bit of immature behavior on the part of the ones crying TROLL.

I simply took a couple of teacher to task for blaming their poor teaching skills on the students and parents. I also backed up everything with facts. The troll hunters hate facts.

What happens here is they get personal and then they cry foul when somebody get the better of them. They are like the spoiled brat who want to take his ball and go home. ;-)

Check out the thread. You’ll see what I mean.

I see exactly what you mean. Teacher quality has been on the decline for quite sometime and they simply do not want to hear it.

It kinda shows things from a teacher’s perspective. It also shows how parents and students get bad-mouthed and short-changed by some teachers.
