How does everyone feel about the new changes in IDEA regarding LD qualifications that will take effect in July?

Read my question to expert Mr. Cohen on this site. Read his answer. It just makes me more curious than ever about what is to come.

Hi,

Go to the National Center for Learning Disabilities. They have lots of info about the reauthorized IDEA.

However, caution about the NCLD; impressive name but they are a private organization. I don’t know how good their factual information is, hopefully accurate. Their theories of LD are controversial at best and I hve heard mixed reactions about the results of their programs.

Victoria,

I believe you may be confusing the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) with the National Association for Child Development (NACD). NACD does have some questionable techniques, but the NCLD is a valid resource of LD information and is listed on this site.
