The thing I dislike the most is when I meet new ppl hoping that someone would understand me for the way I am. It depends on how nice the person is though cuz some ppl are just not understanding enough that there are ppl with LD. It sorta sux though!
Re: Is it good to be honest about LD?
Hmmm…………I was reading what you suggested and saying “I have trouble reading maps” isnt that bad. I’ve been telling almost all the friends I trust about me that way, they wont misunderstand me or think im like weird or something. On the other hand, if I tell ppl I have LD, they’re gonna think i’m stupid so it feel weird. Have you ever felt like if you told ppl about LD that they’re gonna treat you special but if you dont, they’re gonna think you’re weird or something?
Yea - its sort of like they have an LD about understanding an LD, so you have to find a way to teach them so that *they* will understand. And sometimes that means not giving yourself a label that they have the wrong idea about but saying “I have trouble with maps” or something like that.
