I know I have LD maybe NLD but what does this mean??

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

This has been going on forever, but I seem to have a lotta things to say when im e-mailing my friend and cant see them face to face. It might be a sign of NLD but it’s like when im hanging out with my friend, I talk so softly and I dont want anyone else to hear our conversation. I know e-mailing ppl isnt really a conversation but most ppl would rather talk on the phone or talk to each other face-to-face rather than e-mailing. I don’t hate talking on the phone or talking face-to-face, but it’s just weird.

Like when im talking about my friend about me, it’s easier to e-mail her instead of talking to her. Isn’t that weird?? I know I’m not that great at expressing myself when I want to and so sometimes, I need help doing that. Does that have anything to with speaking problems??

I’ve known this for a while that I can write forever when i’m talking about me or something that interests me but when it’s an opinion essay, my paragraphs are short. My english teacher told me that and that whatever im trying to say doesnt seem to be flowing out or I dont have anything else to say or either I dont know what to say. I really hate all this.

I don’t think its weird.

NLD presents in many ways like Asperger’s. Some people say they are related, or even the same thing. I’m not gonna get into that arguement here, I just needed to state that to set up the next paragraph.

On the WrongPlanet.net (a site for children and adults with asperger’s), one of the threads is “You might have Asperger’s if….” and many of the people posted about the things you wrote. One guy even said that he and two other board members were instant mesaging each other, while all were sitting in the same room.

So I think it is a NLD thing.

Thanx for the reply. I checked the site out and found it pretty cool it’s just I couldnt find the posts everyone else wrot about. You might be right about that. I’m not exactly like running away from my problems or anything……………………sometimes I do. That’s weirder than mine. Why don’t they talk face-to-face if they’re in the same room? They’re probabl wasting their money doing that. it’s faster communicating, too.

Thanx for your comment, too. I’m gonna go. Chao
