Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am a mom to a wonderful 4 month old boy-the light of my life. Ever since birth , he avoids eye contact when he is held, though has good eye contact , smiles etc when not being held…doesn’t like to cuddle unless you walk around w/ him… also , is sensitive to his arms being massaged? anyone have similar issues when thier child was a young infant and any ideas (though I know he is to young for a diagnosis)what it might be and where to turn for help.

At this age there probably isn’t much you can do but keep a journal and talk with his pediatrician. It sounds like he may have some sensory integration issues but its really too early to tell for sure.

At that age my dd wanted to be in constant motion. She hated being still, hated sleeping, loved to be rocked, walked around, bounced, twirled, etc.
