I am starting a job in a week at an elementary school working with children with learning disabilities. The former teacher used SRA/Distar Reading program and I’m unfamiliar with this program. Is there any websites or information for me to get in a week so I am able to keep implementing this program effectively? Thanks.
Distar has been around for years and sometimes works ok with LD kids, but it’s not one of the better programs. It’s rather dull to teach, tedious for you and the kids, alot of rote imitation. Are you able to choose any of the newer LD programs, such as you see discussed on this board? …. OG, Lindamood-Bell, Earobics, etc?
