Hello,Yes,I take wellbutrin for depression. Before I started on it I was a basket case, crying at the drop of a hat ,being just real angry all the time.I’ve been taking it for bout 6 months now,no side effects just total relief from the big dark cloud that was over me.Took bout a week or so to start working.Hope this helps, but remember everyone is different. These days if one med. doesn’t work you can always try a different one.Good Luck

Before you take medication make sure you are given a complete physical exam including blood tests inorder to rule out an organic cause.

Read about the side effects of these medications so that you can make an informed choice.

There are many causes of depression. Unfortunately in many cases medications are a band aid solution to a much more complicated problem.

Seek the advice of a doctor not a pill pusher.

You would be doing yourself a disservice not to really investigate all your options before embarking on the pill thing.

Hi Princess:

I’ve seen Paxil CR on TV commercials lately. I actually take the regular Paxil for anger/anxiety management. It has been extremely helpful, especially for the anger. A psychiatrist would be best to help you decide which medication is right for you.

Good luck!!

Hi! Yes,I have depression. I have bipolar mood disorder. It mixed with the ld makes life complicated for me.
I have taken wellbutrin briefly for anxiety. It didn’t have any side effects. Very mild. I almost took paxil but learned it causes bipolars to get manic.
I’ve tried lots of things over the years. Now I’m on depakote and synthroid .I have a thyroid condition.
I am stable and healthy now. The meds are helpful but they don’t cure the depression. I do things with church and family and friends. I’m working and finding activities. I fight depression daily. Good Luck! I have a good therapist and a psychiatrist too. Take care!

Hi Princess,

I had a major depressive episode that lasted a year (I’m fine now).
I tried Celexa for several months. It did seem to help for awhile, but then I felt myself backsliding. My doctor suggested Wellbutrin. The difference was like night and day. Within weeks, I had turned the corner on the depression.
I would advise you against using Paxil. There has been some class action lawsuit filed against the manufacturer relative to patients having a hard time weaning themselves off of Paxil.
I have been off the Wellbutrin for about 6 weeks and suffered no withdrawal symptoms at all.

Good luck to you. Let me know what you decided to do.

Erin
