hi
anyone know how to deal w/there learning disablities?
what services do you use while your at school?
I go to therapy. Talking to someone outside of my family helps. I also have friends to talk to. I also use supportive employment and vocational rehabilitation.
In school I found community colleges that had the access program. I had my counselor from vr send them the info saying what my ld was about. I was able to get tutoring and allowed extera time to take my tests outside of the class. I did much better academically that way.
Another thing is to get a hand held tape recorder. I used to tell my professors that I had a different learning style and get permission to tape. I then listened to the tapes and rechecked my notes. It really works. I also made my own study guides and flash cards. Another good thing is to study in groups or just get a study partner. Hope this helps.
