Hello,
My boyfriend of 17 months has several LD’s including 6th grade math and 9th grade every other school subject.
We want to get married but he has been married before and was very very hurt.
I am curious if anybody out there in a relationship knows ways to break down deeper conversations like personal philosophy, ethics, opinions on life (that could easily be at the college level for me)to the 9th grade level for him? I feel right now that our conversations are getting very frustrating because he cant get to the college level and I am not sure how to reach him. It seems either the pain of his horrific marriage or his inability to grasp my side of the conversation makes him shut down, or blow up. So I am asking for help because I really really don’t want to lose him, I want to reach his level and get on the same page again. I’m not giving up on loving him.
