I am a computer programmer for the federal govenmnet. I take 96 mg of concerta and that has helped. But recently have been given more duties and I feel like I am drowning. I need help breaking down projucts to do able task. Does anyone have any ideas? A computer program would be most helpful for me.
Thanks
Re: Trouble at Work
I am not on Concerta, but I do take adderall. I had a similar complaint. My PCP put me on Effexor. It has really helped me with motivation.
I am able to complete things now, when I wasn’t before.another thing I tried for a while was Ginsing and vitamin b12. Good energy booster! Back to the effexor… There is a lot of side effects, nausea, sweating, among other things I have heard some negative things as far as withdrawals. I have heard many good things about a new drug called lexapro also. And Doctors are starting to use it in conjunction with ADD medication for things like this.
Re: Trouble at work
Jen,
I recently read a book that really helped me with workplace issues. Even if you don’t like to read, it’s in an ADD-friendly format because it’s a book written just for us! It’s called “ADD in the Workplace” and it was written by one of the experts in ADD, Kathleen G. Nadeau. It won’t recommend a computer program for you, but it sure helps with the numerous issues ADDers face in the workplace.
As for a computer program and keeping track of things, I’ve found that getting and using a handheld PDA has helped me enormously! I religiously use the software that comes with it and I can set alarm warnings on the calendars to remind me if I have a meeting, a call to make, or a task to complete. I can download (or Hotsync) everything I need to keep track of from the PDA to my computer at work and to my computer at home and vice versa. That way, I can keep track of things wherever I am!
I wish you well at work!
Kindness :D
