“Does Your ChildHave Special Education Needs? Do you know your rights?”, will be the topic for a training seminar on Special Education.
Program will be presented on Thursday, October 16th, 7:00pm to 8:45pm at the Eola Road Branch of the Aurora, Illinois Public Library, 555 South
Eola Road, Aurora, Illinois. Kane/Kendall Learning Disabilities Association
will present this program as part of Kane/Kendall LDA’s continuing efforts towards improving educational services for children with learning disabilities. Speaker will be Mr. Jim Mc Govern.
Jim Mc Govern has worked as a training specialist for the Family Resource Center on Disabilities (FRCD) for more than ten years. Durning that time he has conducted training seminars on the rights of children with disabilities under the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. During his seminars, Mr. Mc Govern also discusses effective advocacy strategies parents can utilize to obtain
appropriate services for their children.
