I was reading the posts to Beth about her little guy and was happy to “hear” some suggestions that deal with physical activities! My son is 12 and has always been “busy” with something or another. We encourage him, totally! He started riding his bike at four, too! All on his own! NO HELP! LOL He loves rollerblading, skateboarding, riding his bike, unicycle and jumping on his pogo stick! Every new thing he does, he has to master! He does some awesome tricks on that pogo and rarely rides his bike with BOTH wheels on the ground! All these things make him feel better about himself. He gets a little obsessed sometimes, but we don’t try to stop him from doing these things…maybe stop for a snack..LOL! He also loves those little skateboards, bikes, gocarts, fourwheelers, pickups and cars that come with extra parts so you can change them any way you please. He has OOODLES of them, which he buys with his allowance and birthday money. Every once in a while, we reward his good behavior with something new and cool. These things are like five bucks at Walmart! Of course, I have two other adult sons, so I see might be accused of being too easy going! Almost like having another chance…not so much hassling over being “good”, but being a good YOU! When you feel good about yourself, you just DO better! If he’s an angel in school, that’s WONDERFUL! Just remember being an angel is really a tough job! Not many perfect people out here! LOL
Hugs,
Deanna
