ADD

My son Josh has ADHD and wants to go to NYU. He’s brilliant, and I know he’ll eventually be successful somewhere amazing, but right now I am afraid to let him out of my sight. Are there any other parents out there exeriencing this and do you have a good solution for a nervous mom? Tracking-device? Nanny cam?

If you have these major concerns, I would recommend having your son starts school while living at home. Also if your concerns are this great, you might consider some form of counseling.

If your son is over 18, it may be time to let him fly. :) There is a great book called Learning Between the Lines that was written by a couple of ADHD college students about different ways to be successful in college, away from home.

My son decided that he wanted to do community college before going on to a large university but that was HIS decision. Give your son the options and let him make the decision. If he “falls”, it can be looked at as a good “life lesson”.
