My friend and neighbor is a parent of a LD 9 year girl name Kris. My neighbor and her husband adopted Kris when she was 3. She comes from a home where she was abused. Lately, Kris has been going into Anger Overload more frequently. My neighbor is exhausted and frustrated.
If you have any suggestions I could share with her on how to work on changing this behavior, we would greatly appreciate it. Even sharing your stories would help her to feel that she isn’t the only one dealing with this.
Thanks,
Felicia
Re: Anger Overload
Thank you for the suggestion. I’m finding it difficult to order since it is currently being reprinted. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.
Thanks again.
Re: Anger Overload
Check with your library or even the school social worker or psychologist. They should have some sort of resource library for parents and many are familiar with Dr. Greene’s work.
I hope you do locate it soon. Its great.
The book “The Explosive Child” by Ross Greene is an excellent starting point. It explains why the child behaves the way he does and how to deal with it in a humane way.
