In the last four years in the clinical model program with a large public school district I helped implement The Listening Program with many students. It is an auditory stimulation program that has 8 CDs of specifically arranged classical music. Each CD and the series of CDs build in intensity and stimulates the auditory system. I am not a trained provider. Others in my program were. You can find more information on the company website. http://www.advancedbrain.com/ Some of my students had auditory deficits, some attentional, some autism. Effects vary from student to student, but some parents and teachers reported that TLP seemed to help auditory sensitivity and help focus and attention to auditory tasks. As with so many program, you have to find a provider and it can be expensive. I know TLP training is quite intensive and Advanced Brain Tech. is very careful that it is used correctly. Our school district provided it, so you might check to see if your district does too. It would save you $. Often a child benefits from going through twice.

We used it with our son who had been diagnosed with auditory processing deficits. I saw that it made learning auditory tasks easier—like learning to manipulate sounds. I know several providers of programs such as PACE and Interactive Metronome who swear by it—it seems to make a difference in how fast/successfully kids get through their programs.

We did PACE before TLP and my son had a horrid time. After doing the TLP, he was able to get through auditory processing exercises in days that we had previously been unable to do despite months of effort.
