Hello. I am considering the Janus school in Mount Joy PA for my son for next year and I am hoping to find some input on this forum. He is currently in 6th grade and is apraxic, ADHD and has specific learning disabilities in reading, writing and math. He also has slow poor handwriting. He is in public school now, has an IEP, has lots of services in place, but is still falling further behind his peers. He is sooooo bright and I worry even with all we have in place right now that the district just isnt able to meet his needs. This definitely concerns me for next year as he would enter middle school. I am hoping to get feedback on the school??? I have concerns. It is about 45 min or so without traffic from my home. Whether I drive or if the district would provide transportation this would still raise weather and safety concerns for me about him…..not to mention I have another child at home to send off to school each day as well.
I am also wondering if anyone has any feedback on the SLP? Her name is Ginny Mackey? Finding an SLP trained and knowledgable to work with apraxia is so important. If anyone has anything to comment or other input to add I would be so grateful!!!!
Thank you in advance!!!
