Disability and religion research: 15 minute survey

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Although this topic has been posted on LDonline before, the researchers heading up this project are trying to renew interest in the following online survey now that school has begun again.

If you have 15 minutes to dedicate to research that may be relevant to you, we would appreciate any and all participation and feedback. Also, one does not need to be at all religious to participate. Thanks!

[quote]An online study is being conducted by researchers at the University of Denver investigating the role of religion in responding to potential stressors associated with parenting a child with a disability. Individuals at least 18 years old who are parents of children with disabilities are eligible to participate. Participants will take a one-time 15-20 minute anonymous survey on the Internet.

Information gathered from this study will help psychologists to better understand how different religious beliefs influence the coping process for parents of children with disabilities. We hope that with a better understanding, psychologists and religious organizations can provide better support and greater sensitivity.

For more information on the study, please visit the study’s website: www.du.edu/psychology/rap

This study has received ethical approval on 3/28/06 from the University of Denver Institutional Review Board.
