eyeQ ~ anyone here try it?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

A friend just gave me a computer disc called eyeQ. It’s suppose to help with reading and processing speed. I looked at their website and this product doesn’t appear to be designed for LDs. But since I have it here, we may just try it.

I’m curious if anyone else here has tried this program.

I’d be interested in hearing your observations, if you decide to try it. I would be tempted to purchase this program if I thought it would help one of my students, but it’s too expensive for me to buy just to try out.

Hi Nancy,
I’ll be happy to share our experience about the program. My friend (who also has an LD child in my son’s class) had a few copies of it. And these are not bootleg copies, but original discs! I’m not sure why she had more than one.

Anyhow, she’s going to try it with her child following spring break, and I’m going to start it with my son when he gets home from a short trip he’s currently taking with his grandmother. According to my friend, the program is set up to be used for a specific amount of time on a daily basis (and it won’t run if you try to use it twice within 24 hours). I haven’t downloaded it on my computer yet. But it sounds like it may be similar to some other programs that try to increase reading speed (like Read Naturally) but it also includes vision exercises. In all honesty it sounds a little hokey, but we may as well try it.
