I have been fighting the public school system here for three years to simply get my son evaluated for an IEP so I can enforce his rights through the section 504 law.
I finally got so tired and (through the advice of a new school board member) called our county department of education and, what do you know, within two days, I got called to the school to sign the release permission forms for the evaluation and testing. AND - I even got an intervention team and had a meeting that same day.
No more watching my son get punished for a disorder he can’t control. This actually brought me to tears.
I am only wanting you all to know because I know there are so many other parents out there that have gone through the same fight I have and I am hoping that they won’t tolerate it as long as I did.
