I have a 17mth old just diagnosed with a delay. Both her parents are delayed. I am trying to research as much as possible to help her.
She is saying only 2-3 words, not walking and get extremely frustrated when she cannot get what she wants. We attend a early intervention play group.
Just after some ideas and for someone with perhaps we can share ideas and support.

When our son was not walking, etc. (he was a bit younger than 17 mos. then), we had him evaluated at the Physical Medicine Department at Columbus Children’s Hospital. They diagnosed him with very mild cerebral palsy, which made him eligible for in-home services provided by a county agency (even though we were privately insured), such as: occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy.
Later, it turned out that they revised their CP diagnosis (at nine, now, he is a superb athlete, although he still has small motor issues) to Developmental Coordination Disorder.
Anyway, my point is, that early intervention certainly seems to be the key, so I would find out what your local options are.
Good luck & God Bless!
