My mother-in-law happened to visit us Friday night and she brought over a dice game that was not only fun, simple and inexpensive, but I thought it might be a fun way to help my 8-year-old son with internalizing directionaltiy (right/left).
It’s called LCR. There’s a website listed on the game rules.
I just looked it up and here’s the link:

My son even came up with a way we could play the game with two people (the rules calls for 3). I’ll describe it for anyone interested, but unless you’re familiar with the game this may not make sense. Two players sit across from each other. Instead of passing chips to the player on the right or left you create two piles of right/left chips (“right” or “left” are opposite for each player). Instead of a center pile, if you roll a center you give your chip to the other player (who is across from you and therefore in the “center” of the right/left piles).
Of course, I still need to do many other directionaltiy exercises and games, but it was kind of nice to find one more thing to add to my box of games, exercises, books, etc….
