Georgia-Region specific-Will PAC help our kids?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

My name is Sharon Gudger and I was at the last Fulton County
PAC (Parents Advisory Council) meeting in May when
all of the officers resigned. The members at that
meeting voted to schedule a meeting on September 11th
at the Roswell Library from 10:00-11:30 to discuss the
future of PAC and how we as parents can help our
children in the Fulton County Schools. This will be
the last organized chance to see who is interested.
If you can’t attend and still want your voice to be
heard please e-mail me at [email protected] and I
will take your e-mail with me to the meeting.

Parent to Parent is willing to help us become
organized as a support group for each other and give
us options for speakers and aid us in receiving expert
advise from professionals on ways to help our
children. The individual parents I have spoken with
are very eager to have this and feel that there is
definitely a GREAT need. If you have ideas,
suggestions, or just need support or direction please
attend this special meeting to become part of deciding
what the future of the Fulton County parents will be.

In the past few weeks we have learned that Fulton
County appears to have the least number of involved
parents in an organized group for special needs
parents of any of the metro counties. Yet it is my
understanding that Fulton County has the most special
needs students of any county. This is an assumption,
please let me know if I am wrong. I’m not experienced
at organizing group but I have been fairly successful
with Fulton County and do know of fairly simple
procedures, when done in organized numbers, that you
as a parent can do to make a difference.

Best wishes for a good year, [email protected]
