It was beyond belief. The director of student services read to the assembled my son’s 504 from last year (he’s in 8th grade with APD) Turns out her copy was very different than the one I had signed!! When I mentioned an omission she started to say she didnt have that. I brought with me the ccpy I signed last year, written in her own hand! No wonder my son didnt get study guides and I wasnt notified of the novel studies so I could get him the books on tape!! I refused to sign this years until the high school people said they were taking a copy of it with them.
Also, the high school conselour told me that the reading class (glorified study hall) that I had fought so hard to get my son out of might be mandatory next year since he had been reccommended for it. I said that my son had exceeded the test scores to be placed in the program. He said he would look into it and I told him that this was a fight he didnt want-then he said he would try to make sure my son’s name didnt appear on the reccommendation list.
What a frustrating mess this was. I felt that I had to be as tough as nails to deal with them and the games.
I plan on aggressively following up with all of this.
