Hi. My son has Dyslexia, ADHD, and Asperger’s. I have read a lot about the Linda-Mood Bell program. They have sent me a lot of information. And it just sounds great, but I can’t find anyone who has used it. I would love to hear ANy and ALL feedback about their programs. Thanks.
Re: Linda-Mood Bell
Hi, I don’t how you search the archives on this board, but over the last couple years there have been several long threads and discussions about Lindamood-Bell. Lots of us have had good experiences and seen our kids progress with these methods. Look for various advice in old threads.
Re: Linda-Mood Bell
Hi, I am a psychologist who specializes with autistic spectrum disorders- in terms of remediation in reading and critical thinking, I typically recommend LMB’s approaches. They seem to be a good match for their cognitive-sensory profile.
Re: Linda-Mood Bell
My son has gone thru Lips, verbalization/visualization and On cloud 9. the results were so worth it. I send parents there all the time and they come back with glowing reports. It does not cure everything. Nothing can. But it sure helps manage a learning difference.
My dyslexic, inattentive son just completed a 4 week course of treatment with our local Lindamood-Bell (LMB) center. They had him doing “seeing stars” which is their program that comes after Lips and before Visualizing and verbalizing. Its for kids that have the basic decoding skills, but have not become automatic and also need help with what they call symbol imagry.
We have seen definite improvements in his decoding of multisyllable words, and a subtle improvement in his fluency which remains his weakest area.
The staff was young, enthusiastic and very good with the kids. I observed several kids that were clearly on the autistic spectrum and they were really great with them.
Good luck!
