May you all have a wonderful Day.

I am sitting here at my computer. My back thrown out by bowling with my two while they experience spring break.
It’s Easter sunday, the baskets are thrown about, chocolate eaten and hyperactivity abounds. Currently they are outside hitting themselves with the waterballoon bombs found in the basket their Aunt brought by. My back hurts,I frankly don’t care.
I woke up this morning to a bouqet of flowers,a card my oldest wrote. “Mom and Dad,I never give you anything, thought I would this time. I love you guys.” It’s legible,I could definitely read what he wrote:-) A few short days before this I overheard a conversation they both had. They were sitting watching the Fast and Furious. A movie about fast cars and racing. The mechanic was relating how he got into building cars. He went on to explain in the movie how he could put anything thing together, mechanically a genius, but dropped out of school. He retold how they called him Attention deficit disordered. At this my youngest turned to my oldest and said,”hey he is ADD,look how smart he is, building those cars”,my oldest turned to his younger brother and said,” yeah but if he was so smart,” and before he could finnish his sentence his younger brother finnished it for him,” he wouldn’t have dropped out of school”.
NOW that is an Easter present if I ever over heard one:-) You are wrong my son,you give me sooo much, and it isn’t just a back ache. I LOVE you guys!

Happy Easter..

Well put Socks! Sorry to hear about the back ache, but it sounds like a “time out” has been called, whether you want to or not. Glad to hear the boys are doing well and you are enjoying the day (back ache asides).

Heal well.

I wish you lived close by, I’d give you a big hug both for being such a big-hearted trooper, but also for the occasional tear you experience.

You know my daughter is Bipolar, Socks…so we go through tons of ‘ups and downs’. In fact, that’s about all we have…we’re either hitting our heads on the ceiling or bumping out butts on the floor. My daughter’s moods seem to set the stage for the whole family.

When my daughter is ‘up’, maybe even slightly hypomanic…she can be loud, outrageously silly, nonstop talkative and a barrel of energy. About a year ago, when I found myself feeling overwhelmed by this energy, I stopped and realized, “Hey, this is the good stuff!” I stopped hoping my sweet little duck would turn into swan, and started accepting her ‘duckness’. I cherish the ‘up’ times now, knowing that there’ll be a time of tears and ‘down’.

It’s those little moments of joy that give us a breath to go on, and we have to watch for them avidly, right, Socks? These LD kids can be absolutely charming…sometimes.

Hi Socks,

Sorry about your back. You have heard the saying no pain no gain. You had fun gain time and now are in pain.

I can relate perfectly I let my wrestling son “practice just one move” on me since dad was too big. I told him to go easy and slow. Next thing I knew I was somehow flipped on my shoulder. I’ve been in pain for 4 weeks almost better now. He was sorry I hurt but so proud he learned the new move exactly like the coach said.

Hope you had a great Easter. You know what not all moms play with their kids and our kids know we love them.

Hope you won the game.

Socks,
Thanks for sharing one of those “they really heard me moments!” I loved it. My boys go for that movie too.
……and take it slow this week!
