I have a learning disability and I have worked really hard to get where I am today. I am working on getting my Masters in Education inorder to become a school counselor and I am in the process of writing my thesis. I could use some help…I am making a handbook for parent who have children with learning disabilities and I was wondering if I could get some input. When you (parents) find out that their child has a learning disability, what kind of question do or did you have? What are the resourse that you think would help you the most? If you have an suggestions, ideas, or any helpful information please feel free to write me back.
For a start, look at the older posts from parents on these bulletin boards and the kind of replies new people get. There is a lot of good stuff here.
Some of those posts will also direct you to other sites full of even more information.
Then look at the articles on the LD In Depth page of this site, oodles of info.
There ios probably more than enough for a thesis right there.
Many of us worry when asked to help with school work or thesis. Sure it’s a good thing to answer questions, but many times it crosses the line into doing somebody else’s work for them, and we have been down that road. So best that you read up the back archives and the informational sites first, put together as much info as you can for yourself, and then come around again with specific questions.
