Newly diagnosed with SID

:? HI my 3 1/2 yr old son has just gone through a ton of evaluations. Speech, Behavioral, and OT. He will be going for speech which doesn’t really concern me mainly cause his older brother has just finished going through the same thing. “K” (3yr old) has had numerous ear infections, tubes ect. We truely thought most of the behavior was due to his lack of hearing and speech. But since his last tubes were put in he has grawn greatly with his speech. THe speech therapist says the therapy will help get him caught up to his actual age, he is behind 9 mo with articulation.
THat is really not what is bother me. Its the sensory issues. We have been told that as he starts therapy we will learn more about the severity (mild/moderate). We have started brushing and joint compression. THe first week it would put him in a calm state now it seems to rev him up? What is that about? He won’t start therapy (OT) for a few weeks due to insurance.
I have both out of sync books. We have started some of the different activities. How do you are parents deal with the stress of the child’s behavior. My son is fine one moment and like a wild animal the next. One minute he is calm watching Dora the next he is bouncing off the walls. We never know what it expect from minute to minute. Will this ever change?
My 5 yr old doesnt understand why one minute he can touch his brother the next his brother is screaming. I also have twins who are 21 months old. Both of them seem to be find despite being 8 weeks early.
What types of resources are there for parents? ANy advice is greatly appreciated!

thank you! 8)
