oral reading lacked automaticity in application of basic decoding. He tended to rely on a whole word approach realting to context. There were inconsistences in speed due to problems decoding and processing. On Word attack he demonstrated scatter and difficulty with sound substitutins and insertion. These errors were demonstrated on conconat sounds as he inserted an extra s sound at the end of a word, changed soft “ced” to a hard “ckt” and a silent k at the beginning of a “KN” sound to a hard “g” sound.
