I need some advice. I am a parent of 3 children under 5 1/2 y/o. My middle child 4 1/2 y/o was recently diagnosed with expressive & receptive delays as well as some Autistic tendencies. I saw the signs emerging around 2 y/o but EVERYONE told me I was hallucinating. Now it’s on record officially. I am also finishing my Masters in Special Ed because I have to go back to work next year since my husband left me and the three kids on Father’s Day of 2000 (same day my youngest was born). I would like to know if there are any parents out there who would be willomg to fill out a 2 minute survey through email or phone regarding their child’s LD. My Masters Thesis is dealing with Parents and detecting LD in thier child. They are the first ones who notice yet nobody believes them! My email is [email protected]. You may verify my credentials by calling my professor toll free (877) 210-8839 Kate Scorgie at Azusa Pacific in San Diego. I will walk through with my MA in December this year. This is a great feat for me because I had no help other than my wonderful friends (my parents live way up North). I would really like to help parents to be heard when it comes to LD. Thanks. Audrey
Re: Parental Advice
Hi
I know where you are coming from,
I knew there was a problem with my daughter years ago, Nobody believed me I took her from Doctor to Doctor, specialist to specialist, speech theprapst to speech theraph, bugged my health Vistior intill she told me there was nothing wrong but I knew I was right. I got the feeling she knew there was a problem but wasn’t going to tell me.
She has been diagoised with LD she is 2 years behind at the moment with her everthing.
So why did nobody listen?
Do mum’s not count?
Even my Mum told me she was alright but again I knew.
So things are no better in England.
Liz
I’d be happy to fill out your survey. I have 7 kids, 4 with confirmed ld.
