Long before you saw the first “smiley face” online or in an email, Paul Smith was making art with his typewriter that made people smile. For the last 70 years he has typed artwork depicting patriotic scenes, nature scenes, portraits, imitations of famous artwork and more. So good is his typewriter art that it’s hard to tell it isn’t a pen and ink drawing.
What’s even more remarkable is that Paul uses one finger to type with, and the other hand to steady his typing hand. You see, Paul has severe cerebral palsy, but that hasn’t stopped him from living a life of inspiration to anyone that knows him.
