Well I just came from the first parent teacher meeting, to pick up Jeremy’s report card. I was in tears looking at his 1st report card. My son only had 2 N’s the first quarter, which was in reading and spelling, We just signed paperwork last night to put Jeremy in Special Ed classes for reading and spelling just to catch him up with his class as needed.
Putting Jeremy on AdderallXR was a blessing, and I am ashamed it took me so long to see my son was struggling in school, I like my husband was passing it off as a 6 year old kid doing onry things.
When we sat down with his teacher, she admitted when she heard Jeremy was in her class this year, she was scared as to how she was going to deal with him. She had seen him throwing his temper tantrums, and kicking and screaming. She heard all the horror stories from last years 1st grade teacher about him.
Tonight I walked out with a report card fit to be framed, he had 10 +’s which is the highest grade he can get, 34- check marks which was satisfactory work, and only 2 N’s which needs improvement(reading, spelling)
I pray everyone here has as much success as we have had with our son with ADHD.
I’m with you, congrats on your son’s progress.
I was a bit scared to look at my older son’s report (13, add/in, concerta, sp.ed) he has all C’s with an A in pe. I can be happy with that, I was worried about a D in math.
My younger son(11, adhd, concerta, no school problems) had two A’s and the rest B’s. He was also nominated to be a peer mediator for his advisory class.
Thank goodness only one so far to give me heartburn over school.
Hope everyone has seen progress with their kids. Best wishes.
Amy
