Hello all,
This year I have volunteered to be the PTA Sped Chairperson for my son’s high school. (He’s LD, identifed in first grade.) My son’s school is only three years old and therefore Special Needs has not been a very active part of the PTA, as of yet. I have many ideas and lots of enthusiasm, but would be interested in thoughts and suggestions from other parents of special need kids. I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who held a similar position in their child’s PTA or from someone who found their Special Needs Chairperson to be particularly helpful. Please keep in mind that I am trying to address the needs of the Sped student/parent in a high school setting. Any thoughts?…
Thanks in advance,
Julie
