Susan, thanks for your post. Vouchers vary State to State. I would check with the Texas Dept of Education. I apologize, but I assumed you were talking about Florida. I am not sure what the criteria for vouchers would be in Texas. Please let me know what you find out, because I would pass the info on the other I know from your state:-): Socks,: I just found out yesterday that my son will be eligible for OT after
: all of the testing is complete. He is 5 3/4 years old and will be
: six in April. I know in your previous message that you said that
: if he/she can’t pass any of the statewide assessments then he
: would qualify for the voucher. What if he passes some and fails
: some….Does he still qualify? My mom gave me some information re:
: a school in Houston but that is almost 2 hours away from our
: house. I sent them an email to give me some info… Do you know if
: some of these private or learning schools would accept insurance?
: The private one’s probably wouldn’t..but I am getting more
: information about it. Like I said before, my husband I think is
: kinda in denial. That is another reason I am getting 3 opinions
: instead of 1 or 2. Does your child go to a public or private
: school? You said that you had to fight for OT for your child and
: you got it. That is so great!! I hope it doesn’t take too long to
: get him some speech. Summer School (EYS) this year is going to be
: inter- esting. I hope that he will be getting OT in Summer School
: and that I don’t have to wait until next year…….: Thanks!!: Susan
