I posted a request for feedback on two resources on the Teaching LD Board, but it occurs to me that teachers don’t generally have time to remediate underlying stuff like auditory memory.
Has anyone used Auditory Processes by Pamela Gillet (Academic Therapy Publ.) or Linguisystem’s Help for Auditory Processing? Would these be worthwhile for use by a parent in regular short bursts?
My son’s expanding memory scores are half his age–a weak area not helped by FFWD. We are soon to start Interactive Metronome, so this would not be a good time for BrainBuilder (which he hated during the brief time we tried it)—My sense is BrainBuilder wouldn’t help anyway until something else happens.
The games Simon and Sound FX Mania (by the people who do GeoSafari) are supposed to work auditory memory, I think, but I haven’t tried them. I am also wondering about The Listening Program.
Thank you.
