Testing for re-evaluation

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Anyone ever heard of the school substituting a test and not using the test you signed for? That actually happened until I took them to task>
The slp actually did not have his current records at the junior high, the
slp and other educators did not know he has CAPD even though at his
team meetings I mentioned it over asnd over…….who has the LD here, my son
or them??

The whole year, (eighth grade) he has been labled lazy and sped teacher minimizing his problem. I think they need a check up from the neck up,
maybe drop off info and literature in theur cubbholes at the junior high.

Unfortunately, the same reasons they have been sloppy with records (whether the files are kept at some central office and they’re not ever actually expected to *look* at ‘em, or they’re just fundamentally incompetent, or they’re totally overwhelmed with a caseload of a million…) will be the same reason that information in their cubbyholes won’t help.

Yup, they are the ones with the processing problems… they don’t have to pay the price though. THey get their paychecks whether or not your kid learns anything.

Hi sue

Thanks for the info
How do they sleep at night? Maybe they are desensitized to doing the right thing I don’t have a clue.

I think I will bring the info to the team meeting, no point in pissing them off before hand, but it will be stapled to his new IEP for sure and then I will ask to review his file at the high school to ensure this does not happen again!!

Once again THANKS
