I read the amen book and ds fits the inattentive subtype -the quick checklist on the side was ALMOST 100%
We got the adderall prescription tonight-I plan to start tomorrow. This particular Dr. explained it as getting his brain “in the zone” and said it should make a difference for him fairly quickly. I hope! He wasn’t at all bothered by the lack of hyper symptoms.
My son doesnt organize to settle(I wish)but he draws-has since a little tyke-we couldnt leave his older bros theme books out-hed make a mark on each page-later it was houses-30, 50 of them, identical except one would have a brown window, the next blue.He was still drawing on walls in kindergarten, something my other two did once or twice as 2 yr olds. I was appalled then, but it kinda makes sense now. Still draws on arms, shoes on occassion
I am fascinated by the right brain connection-one book puts add, dyslexia, and autism all on the right brain spectrum-in that order. It explained to me why so many symptoms overlap and confuse things(at least for me). The drawing is an aspergers type thing.
I will be checking out the sites suggested. The brain connections fascinate me.
ds was found to have a moderate to severe hearing loss shortly before age four-it was the ole fluid in the ears-malformed tubes prevented draining but there were no infections to flag it. The morning after he had tubes inserted he woke his brother up demanding to know “what dat noise?” It was the toilet flushing! His hearing tests perfectly normal now but I cant help but wonder if there isnt a connection somewhere in that brain.
Thanks again-Ill be checking back as things move along
